Life Upside Down

Saffi’s life was turned upside down when her husband abandoned her, leaving her alone with two young children. Raised as a Muslim, Saffi’s conversion to Christianity led to her being rejected and shunned by her entire family.

Desperate For Support

Saffi journeyed to Monrovia in search of her children’s father, but instead of finding help, Saffi and her children were forced to live on the streets, with nowhere else to turn.

After months of struggling, Saffi finally located her husband, only to discover that he had moved on with another woman. Together, they brutally assaulted her, leaving her in need of stitches and antibiotics after being bitten during the attack. Overwhelmed by fear for her baby boy’s survival, Saffi made the heart-wrenching decision to surrender him at the Ministry of Gender.

It was there, in her most desperate moment, that a kind director told her about Home of Hope. Annette and James, from Home of Hope, immediately took action, bringing her to the hospital for treatment. Annette recalls Saffi being in a terrible state, both physically and emotionally, when they first met.

Answer To Prayer

Deeply traumatized, Saffi initially believed she belonged on the streets and even attempted to run away. But with time, care, and support, Saffi gradually began to understand that she was loved, valued, and deserving of a better life.
